School is closed today due to the bad weather conditions and the ability to staff travelling to school safely. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Parents and Carers,
Due to the current circumstances relating to Covid, and issues around staffing levels, from Tuesday 5th January, school will only be open to children who fall within the vulnerable category and critical workers group.
If you wish your child to access school, because you fall within the critical workers category, please send an email directly to school by midday tomorrow (Monday) so that we can collate relevant information for staff on site.
Either a direct call will be made to you, or a communication will be sent out to families by 7pm, if we are expecting to see your children in school. This communication will give clear guidance informing you of arrangements that will be in place on Tuesday.
If you do not receive any communication, we will not be expecting to see your children in school on Tuesday.
All other pupils will be able to access remote learning each day, and we will update parents and carers later in the week, when we have relevant information to share.
Once again, thank you for your understanding under these difficult circumstances.
We are liaising with our staff throughout today to ascertain how many of them intend to exercise their rights under section 44 as suggested by trade unions.
I can confirm that St Mary’s Primary School will be open on Tuesday for the children of key workers and vulnerable students, and we will be in touch with families to confirm these details if and when needed.
Once staffing information is collated this afternoon a decision will be made around school opening after 6pm this evening. We will communicate with them as soon as possible.
Apologies for the inconvenience, but we ask for your understanding at this difficult time.
